We work to ease the transition of deinstitutionalized young people to independent life by offering

financial and emotional support, counselling and medical assistance, mediation and job trainings, as well as housing in a close-knit community.

The Right to Community Integration for disabled people, “with the freedom to choose and control their lives” is guaranteed by Article 19 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). In 2010, the European Union ratified the Convention, followed by Romania, one year later.

CATEGORIES

SOCIAL AND PROFESSIONAL INTEGRATION

We want The New Life Foundation to be a platform where every individual involved – volunteer or staff, donor or partner, child or adult, disabled or abled – feels valued, appreciated, and integrated into the bigger picture. We can only do this together.

COUNSELLING & ADVOCACY

Proper counselling comes in a variety of formats, but only has to follow a golden set of rules, the most important of which is derived from the understanding that what we deal with are issues such as loss, anxiety, isolation, low self-esteem, progressive illness, long-term psychological abuse, lack of independence or empowerment, hopelessness, relationship and transition difficulties. And many more.

CAMPAIGNING & AWARENESS

Segregating people with disabilities is apartheid! The vulnerable are also legitimate members of this society and have the right to live in a community with access to support services!
